Choosing Horizontal/Vertical type YQW/L gas or diesel oil fired thermal oil boiler heater: Working Requirements and Integration Fit

A buyer-focused guide to choosing a Horizontal/Vertical type YQW/L gas or diesel oil fired thermal oil boiler heater from Hebei Yineng Boiler Co., Ltd. It shows how to match heat load, circulating oil volume, the published 1.1 MPa and 320 ℃ parameters, fuel type, pipe connections, weight and installed dimensions to your plant. It also explains when a horizontal YQW or vertical YQL layout makes sense, and when another product, such as a molten salt boiler or a steam boiler, may suit the requirement better.

Choosing Horizontal/Vertical type YQW/L gas or diesel oil fired thermal oil boiler heater: Working Requirements and Integration Fit

When procurement teams look at a Horizontal/Vertical type YQW/L gas or diesel oil fired thermal oil boiler heater, the first question is not which model is best. It is which model fits the process heat demand, the fuel on site, the space available and the existing thermal oil circuit. This guide uses the published product information from Hebei Yineng Boiler Co., Ltd. to explain the main selection points. It does not cover price, delivery time or certification, because none of that is included in the confirmed product materials. Please ask the supplier directly about those items.

1. Start with your working requirements

Before comparing models, write down the following:

  • Required heat output in kW or ×10⁴ kcal/h, including any planned expansion.
  • Required oil supply temperature for the process.
  • Flow rate of the existing or planned thermal oil circuit and the pipe size it uses.
  • Fuel available on site, such as diesel, natural gas, town gas or another fuel oil.
  • Installation space, including floor area, ceiling height and access for lifting.
  • Control integration needs, such as connection to a plant DCS or remote monitoring.

With these figures in hand, you can compare them against the published parameters below.

2. Capacity range and matching parameters

The product page for the YQW/L series lists capacities from 240 kW (20 ×10⁴ kcal/h) to 2400 kW (200 ×10⁴ kcal/h). The separate horizontal YQW and vertical YQL product pages carry the tables on to 12000 kW (1000 ×10⁴ kcal/h).

Capacity (kW)×10⁴ kcal/hCirculating oil volume (m³/h)Boiler oil volume (m³)Connecting pipe (DN)Boiler weight (kg)Efficiency (%)
24020180.1250163296.09
35030300.2965274596.28
50040300.3865314696.27
70060600.52100377196.02
100080800.57100449696.00
12001001000.74150499396.06
14001201000.92150568096.03
20001601601.55150770096.07
24002001601.77150876596.06

For all sizes listed, the published pressure is 1.1 MPa and the published maximum temperature is 320 ℃.

What to check:

  • Circulating oil volume vs. your pump and pipework. For example, the 1200 kW and 1400 kW sizes both list 100 m³/h and DN150, so moving between them may not change the circuit design. Going from 500 kW (DN65) to 700 kW (DN100), however, changes the connection size.
  • Boiler oil volume. This affects how much thermal oil you need for the initial fill and how large the expansion tank should be.
  • Weight. Use the published boiler weight to check floor loading and lifting plans.

For larger loads, the horizontal YQW and vertical YQL tables list sizes from 3000 kW to 12000 kW, with circulating oil volume from 180 to 600 m³/h and connections from DN150 to DN300. Most of these sizes list efficiency at about 96%. The 8200 kW size is listed at 92.98%, so check that figure with the supplier if you are considering that size.

3. Horizontal (YQW) or vertical (YQL)?

Both layouts share the same published capacity steps, pressure, temperature, oil volumes and weights. The difference is in the installed dimensions, so the choice depends on space rather than on heat output.

Capacity (kW)Horizontal YQW L × W × H (mm)Vertical YQL L × W (mm)
2402514 × 1320 × 15751845 × 1340
5003250 × 1690 × 20822535 × 1818
10003764 × 1810 × 22913376 × 2243
24005560 × 2254 × 27005565 × 2680 (H 2780)

Points to note:

  • At smaller capacities the vertical layout has a shorter published length. At 2400 kW, however, the vertical unit is listed as about the same length and wider than the horizontal unit. A vertical design does not automatically save floor space.
  • The vertical table does not give a height for every small size. Ask for the complete dimensional drawing before you finalize the boiler room layout or check the ceiling height.
  • For horizontal units, length is the largest dimension. Allow space for burner access and maintenance at the front.

4. Fuel and burner fit

According to the product description, the boiler can use diesel, gas, town gas and oil as fuel. It is fitted with burners from international brands, and burner output and thermal load can adjust automatically. When you request a quote, state the exact fuel, its supply pressure and any local emission requirements. The confirmed materials for this series do not include specific burner models, fuel consumption figures or emission values, so ask the supplier for these.

5. Design features that affect integration

The published description lists these design points:

  • A wet back internal combustion, two-return structure, with a top coil tube that stops the flame from radiating directly onto the rear wall and increases the radiant heating area.
  • A heating surface made of closely arranged coils.
  • Micro-positive pressure operation, which the description says makes the boiler smaller and eliminates air leakage from the furnace and flue.
  • High-efficiency condensation technology to lower exhaust gas temperature.
  • Refractory insulation materials to reduce the outer surface temperature and heat loss.
  • Automatic computer control that supports DCS and remote control.

For integration, the DCS and remote control capability matters most. Confirm the communication interface and signal list with the supplier so your controls team can plan the connection.

6. Typical applications

The product information lists textile, chemical, wood, oil, rubber, plastics, food, paper, reduction, concentration, dehydration and forest product industries as application areas. Being on this list does not confirm that a given process will work. Compare your process temperature and heat load with the published parameters.

7. When this series may not be the right fit

  • Process temperature above 320 ℃: The YQW/L series lists a maximum of 320 ℃. The same manufacturer's gas oil fired molten salt boiler lists a maximum temperature of 450 ℃ for sizes from 450 kW to 4700 kW, and may suit higher-temperature duties better.
  • Your process needs steam rather than thermal oil: A thermal oil heater does not produce steam. The LSS vertical gas or diesel fired steam boiler is a separate product listed from 0.3 to 2 t/h at a rated pressure of 1.0 MPa.
  • Limited installation time on site: The manufacturer also offers a skid-mounted thermal oil boiler, which is pre-installed on a base frame before shipment and needs only overall placement and connection to external pipes on site. Ask the supplier whether your chosen YQW/L capacity can be supplied in skid-mounted form.

8. Information to send with your inquiry

To get an accurate proposal, send the required heat output, oil supply and return temperatures, fuel type, available space with ceiling height, existing pipe size and pump flow, and control system requirements. Ask the supplier to confirm the model, dimensional drawing, burner details, price, lead time and any certifications your market requires. None of these should be assumed from the catalog data alone.
